My friends will tell you that list is long. :-)
But hub's b-day is coming up soon and I thought maybe I could get myself my own mother's day present, being the chillen' are so young. So I go to Best Buy on my lunch hour. (Hey it's close and I was *just* browsing!)
Anyway, I can go in there on a day I'm not working, therefore dressed in jean and a t-shirt and NO ONE will help me! But today dressed in "work" clothes, and a nice dress coat, heels, etc I have not one, not two, but six salesclerks offer me assistance.
That's just wrong............on so many different levels.

I hate it when people judge a book by it's cover. My parents have always dressed very modestly, and are quite wealthy. They have always had car dealers try to "talk them down to something in their price range" because they didn't think they could afford the car they were looking at. Then my parents would mention that they always pay cash for vehicles, and the story would change. My parents are nicer than me. If that happened to me, I'd let them know the car I was going to buy, and tell them I would be buying it at another dealership.
I just got my wife's mother's day gift at best buy. She doesn't read blogs, so I can tell you here - its an LCD picture frame. She's a big picture taker, and I think she'll really like being able to have the family flix rotating on the screen. We've got thousands, so its going to be a ton of fun.
I am a director in a high-tech company, so I need to dress nice for work - when I go into HD, I get all kinds of help. Since I typically don't want help at HD, I go on the weekend in ratty jeans and a sweatshirt.
That's why I dress ratty most of the time! :)
I'm always getting judged... I happen to be somewhat petite framed, and I never get any respect at home improvement type places unless I have paint splatters.
Regardless of what I'm wearing, I just walk around wherever I am with a purposeful look on my face, like I know what I'm doing, where I'm going and what I need, and people usually leave me alone unless I ask for help. Which is fine with me. :)
Boy, I walk into a place like that, with heels and a nice outfit and all, and I am greeted with the strangest looks. Then again, I'm a guy. Maybe that has something to do with it.
