We are so...

We have had the most rainfall in history of Hicksville. And we are SOL. I give up. Dear hubby hasn't yet, but I give up. We simply cannot keep up. Our lovely old brick is seeping the water in and we just cannot keep up. (Governor Doyle has declared a state of emergency, but there are people that are much worse off than we are, so that is where the help needs to go now.) It is just so bad. So so bad down there. My stepson's room is just not pretty and the chimney area where the brick is, that is where it is seeping in at, well that is just, you could really sit there all night with the shop vac. You'd keep up, but still. I'm to the point I'm almost crying, I'm just so overwhelmed.
Okay I'm done venting, off to the basement to vacuum up some more water!

It's been raining all last night and all day long here in Chicago too, and is supposed to continue well into tomorrow and probably the next day...I'm not comfortable with that, given my distrust of our bathroom skylight (that I could completely do without)...

Hang in there...hopefully, brighter days lie ahead...

Nice you have a bathroom skylight too! Our keeps blowing open in the storms! Does yours? Well we're going down there one more time, going to sleep for 2 hours and then back down there. We will probably repeat this all night. Goody goody.

Our doesn't blow open...in fact, it's really difficult to open, truthfully. Which makes no sense as to why the water gets through. I hope that it finally stopped raining by you...we might actually have a nice, quiet night for once. Sleep is good. Good luck, again...
